The Fokker M.4

The M.4 was built in November 1913 and had a 6-cylinder 100 hp Mercedes DI inline engine.

The two-seater had a nose wheel as well as a tail skid. The nose wheel was designed to prevent roll or pitch during takeoff or landing, especially during training flights.

Although the aircraft underwent many changes, the German army rejected the design. Fokker subsequently dismissed his chief designer, Carl Palm, and was succeeded by Martin Kreutzer.
