The Fokker M.8 (A-1)
The M.8 was built in September 1914, mainly as a reconnaissance aircraft but could also operate as a training or fighter aircraft.
It had a 7-cylinder 80 hp Oberursel UO rotary engine and reached 134 km/h.
The M.8 was a two-seat shoulder-mounted fighter, providing good ground visibility. This was necessary for artillery observation.
The M.8 was the first (interned) Fokker aircraft of the Dutch LVA, Aviation Department.
The German company Halberstadt built the M.8 under license as the Halberstadt AI.
