The Fokker Model 13

In July 1928, AAC asked the Dept. of Commerce, Aviation Branch, whether registration 83, used for the Model 8 Skeeter, could be used for a development of that aircraft.

It turned out to be an experimental high-wing aircraft for two people, now seated side by side. Since this was not allowed under the regulations, registration 7283 was assigned. The Aviation Branch also requested the manufacturer's serial number. It was not provided by Huff of FACoA until January 1929, when it was given as 1300. Had this been assigned upon completion, it would have had a lower serial and model number (e.g., 1100).

Although the registration application stated that it was intended for two people, it was registered as a single-seater.

All that is known about the period up to April 1932 is that it had several different engines. It was then sold to Philip Gray of Montclair, NJ, with ID number 7283. In January 1934, A.K. Miller, also of Montclair, became the owner. The ID number was canceled when it expired in February 1936.

Only one photograph of the aircraft is known. It was reportedly taken when Western Canada Airways pilot Leigh Brintell visited the Fokker factory. This may have been during a test before its first flight.
