Fokker S.VI

No photographs of the Fokker S.VI are known, but text is available.

The S.VI was a biplane, which sat between the S.IV and the S.IX.

The lower wing was smaller than the upper wing, which was free-standing and made in one piece.

Its connection consisted of N-pillars and the empty weight was 500 kg.

It was a wooden construction, partly covered with canvas and bakelite plywood.

The engine was a 100 hp Hirth, fitted with a two-bladed propeller.

Instructor and student sat in a cabin behind each other.

LVA was presented with the S.VI in January 1937 along with the S.IX.

The S.IX was much more modern and so LVA and MLD both opted for the latter.

This drawing board device had the following features:

  • Wingspan 9.7 m
  • Length 7.7 m
  • Height 2.8 m
  • total weight 760 kg
  • Cruising speed 138 km/h
  • Max. speed 165 km/h
  • Motor Hirth of 100 hp.

Fokker S.VIII.

Two-seater training aircraft that Fokker offered to LVA on March 20, 1939.

Equipped with a Hirth engine or a Pubjoy Niagara engine.

The S.VIII was not regarded as a beginner's trainer but served as an advanced training trainer.

Especially for lessons in aerial acrobatics, also known as aerobatics.

Teacher and student would sit behind each other.

Leendert Van 't Hof made the beautiful print below.
