De Fokker Atlantic TA-1/RA-1 (Model 7)
From 1926 onwards a number of C-2s/C-2As were modified for the US Navy.
The first three were designated TA-1/RA-1.
The abbreviation TA stood for Trans Atlantic, which later caused confusion because the T designation also applied to Torpedo.
The R designation was the identification symbol for transport and cargo aircraft after the C. multiple engines.
The TA-1, developed from the C-2, had room for two pilots and eight passengers, and was equipped with three Wright R-790 Whirlwind J-5 engines of 220 hp each

The TA-2 was similar to the USAAS C-2A, the three TA-2s having a larger wingspan than the C-2A.

The only TA-3 was a TA-1 converted with 3 Wright's R-790 J-6-9 of 300 hp.
