Warning about the English/American translation
The English/American part of the site has been automatically translated. No matter how good
AI is, strange things happen.
Common problems include:
• ‘Fokker’ is sometimes translated as ‘Breeder’
• The popular Dutch name for ‘airplane’ is
‘Kist’. ‘Kist’ can be translated as
‘Box’,
‘Chest’,
‘Crate’ or 'Coffin'
• Another commonly used name for ‘(civilian)airplane’ is
‘toestel’. And
‘toestel’ is translated as ‘Device’ or ‘Apliant’.
• A pilot is also called a ‘vlieger’ in Dutch. 'vlieger' can be translated as 'kite'.
• On some pages (including the ‘Library’ and ‘Milestones’ sections), photo captions are not translated and therefore appear in Dutch.
We are working hard to track down and correct these incorrect and missing translations.
If you find one, please email it to
