The Fokker V.13 (D-VI)
Fokker V.13/1 (Fokker D.VI)
The fuselage of this V.13/1 biplane is based on that of the Fokker triplane.
The N-pillars between the wings are clearly visible here.
The aircraft was completed in November 1917
In fact, what we have here is the real prototype of the Fokker D.VI., and this aircraft also resembles the V.9.
A 110 hp Le Rhône engine and 2 machine guns were chosen as armament.
This V.13/1 also took part in the 1918 Johannisthal fighter competition.
And therein an internal competition with the Fokker D.VII reveals itself.
At the front, the Le Rhône engine will be partly replaced by a 160 hp Goebel engine.
During the first D.VII deliveries, the D.VI was only used as a training aircraft.
Fokker V.13/2 (Fokker D.VI)
Similar in all respects to the V.13/1 but with a 160 hp Siemens -Halske engine.
After the January 1918 fighter competitions, the /2 was not further developed.
