The Fokker V.5
The English Sopwith triplane appeared at the front in the summer of February 1917 and was immediately a superior fighter aircraft.
The German military leadership also demanded triplanes, which resulted in the Fokker F.1 and Dr-1 (V.4), among others.
Fokker continues to develop the triplanes.
The design of the V.5 is by Reinhold Platz, who also designed the prototypes of the V.4 and V.6 three-deckers.
The V.5 is essentially an improved and enlarged form of the V.4 and outperforms the rival Fokker V.6.
Only three prototypes of the V.5 were built, and the experience gained was incorporated into the F.1 and Dr-1.
The V.5 has a Goebel III engine of 160 hp.
The empty weight was 400 kg, the maximum speed was 160 km/h, the ceiling was approximately 2000 feet and the flight range was 300 km.
