Fokker V.9

The V.9 was built in late 1917 with an 80 or 110 hp Oberursel engine.

It became a biplane again for the first time in a long time and had V-struts between the wings.

In January 1918 the V.9 was equipped with a 110 hp Oberursel and took part in the fighter competitions of 1918.

The V.9 was one of the prototypes of what later became the D-VI would become.

After a long time of various three- and even five-plane designs, Fokker is returning to the biplane. The V.9 is destined to participate in the January 1918 fighter races at Johannisthal. The prototype's V-struts are replaced by N-struts between the wings. The more powerful 110 hp Oberursel engine is installed. This aircraft will ultimately take to the skies as the D.VI.
